The Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses is a statement of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) and represents the ethical values of nurses and their commitment to patients and persons receiving care. The Code is intended for nurses in all contexts and domains and at all levels of decision-making. It was developed by nurses for nurses to assist nurses in practicing ethically and working through ethical challenges that may arise in their interactions with families, communities and Canada's public health system.
