The site provides access to a listing of articles and news updates from 1995 to the present. Other reports on emerging health threats are available and can be downloaded. Links to weekly and monthly reports, resources under chronic diseases, fluwatch, surveillance, influenza links, respiratory virus detections and the West Nile Virus, among other information is included.

The Canadian Society of Microbiologists (CSM) is a non-profit organization for members that includes government agencies, societies, Canadian university faculty and student representatives. The study of microbiology encompasses all possible microorganisms from bacteria and associated phage to eukaryotes (fungi, other lower eukaryotes and cell cultures) and viruses. CSM is divided into 3 sections: Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Infection and Immunity and Molecular Genetics and Cellular Microbiology.
