OECD Health Data 2012, released on 28 June 2012, offers the most comprehensive source of comparable statistics on health and health systems across OECD countries. It is an essential tool for health researchers and policy advisors in governments, the private sector and the academic community, to carry out comparative analyses and draw lessons from international comparisons of diverse health care systems. It is the most comprehensive source of statistics and indicators for comparing health systems across 34 OECD member countries, including Canada, the United States, the European Community, Australia and Japan.
The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) and Statistics Canada maintain the Canadian segment of the OECD Health Database, contributing national data on health care spending, health care services and the health status of the population.

The Health On the Net Foundation (HON) promotes and guides the deployment of useful and reliable online health information, and its appropriate and efficient use. Created in 1995, HON is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, accredited to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. For 15 years, HON has focused on the essential question of the provision of health information to citizens, information that respects ethical standards. To cope with the unprecedented volume of healthcare information available on the Net, the HONcode of conduct offers a multi-stakeholder consensus on standards to protect citizens from misleading health information.
HON is funded by the State of Geneva, several European projects, the French National Health Authority (HAS) and the Provisu foundation. HON is also supported by the Geneva Hospital since its inception.
Canada's Health Care Providers, 2000 to 2009: A Reference Guide provides aggregate, supply-based trend information, by province and territory and by year, and presents for the first time, information on the entry-to-practice requirements for 24 health occupations. This latest publication maintains the continuity of previous editions—such as Canada's Health Care Providers, 1997 to 2006, which was previously called the Health Personnel Trends in Canada series— within a consolidated format and is intended to be used as a reference guide for the professions highlighted.
Learning From the Best: Benchmarking Canada's Health System examines Canadians' health status, non-medical determinants of health, quality of care and access to care. It is based on international results that appear in the OECD's Health at a Glance 2011, which provides the latest statistics and indicators for comparing health systems across 34 member countries.
This sixth edition of Health at a Glance provides the latest comparable data on different aspects of the performance of health systems in OECD countries. It provides striking evidence of large variations across countries in the costs, activities and results of health systems. For the first time, it also features a chapter on long-term care.
This edition presents data for all OECD member countries. Where possible, it also reports data for Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, the Russian Federation and South Africa, as major non-OECD economies.
